An independent lift consultant or your maintenance company's advice?

Your lift company knows your lifts. An independent consultant works only for the owner. Here is when each one is the right call.

Your maintenance company knows your lifts, and its technicians' advice on faults and safety is valuable. The difference is whose side the advice is on. The company that maintains your lifts also prices the contract, the repairs and the upgrades. An independent lift consultant works only for the building owner, so it can check those prices and recommendations before you commit.

LPM doesn't sell, install or service lifts, and its only paying client is the building owner.

When your maintenance company is the right call

Breakdowns, entrapments and anything to do with safety on the day. Call them first. LPM doesn't replace your maintenance contractor.

When an independent view helps

  • A maintenance contract is up for renewal, or might roll over.
  • Invoices keep climbing.
  • You have been handed a modernisation proposal you can't easily check.
  • You want a tender run so the bids compare like for like.

Questions people ask

Is my lift company's advice wrong?

Not at all. It is just that the same company prices the work, so an independent check before you spend is sensible.

Does LPM replace my maintenance company?

No. You keep a maintenance contractor. LPM checks the contract, the invoices and the proposals on your side.

Who is behind LPM?

Founder Gareth Evans spent 18 years in the lift industry, including as Queensland Service Branch Manager at Otis, so he knows how the pricing is built.
